DS3500 new firmware supports T10-PI

DS3500 new firmware supports T10-PI

Apparently the newer DS3500 firmwares (for DS3524, DS3512) from 07.86.32.00 onwards supports T10-PI. What is T10-PI you ask? It is a mechanism for providing additional error checking on data flows between disk, HBA and application. This is more and more important as the bandwidth of Fibre Channel increases, also increasing the risk of a silent error. A good summary with links to further info can be found here.

Shout-out to Anthony Vandewerdt from Aussie Storage Blog for this interesting tidbit.
